Soulfeast Sunday!

One of the best ways to connect with others is over a meal. A shared meal can bring people together regardless where they're from or what beliefs they have. Jesus did this during his earthly ministry. He ate with a diverse group of people: Jews, Gentiles, sinners, tax collectors, and his disciples. As these people dined with him, Jesus had the opportunity to demonstrate love and compassion to his neighbors. I can imagine that people were seen, heard and known by Jesus around a dinner table.

Since our church was first planted in Salem, we dreamed of hosting a meal regularly after Sunday worship service as a continuation to express hospitality. We yearned for a time where we can make new connections with others or deepen relationships over a warm meal.

That dream is starting to become a reality! Our church will provide a free meal for the congregation during Soulfood on May 7th. Please join us for a time of fellowship and a warm meal in the dining hall. We are looking for volunteers to help clean up afterwards and provide dessert. Please register on Church Center or reach out to Pastor Gene at gene@anchorbaychurch.org if you'd like to volunteer.
